Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Seeking Nominees
for 2011 Johana Knox Awards
ORANGE CITY, FL—January 3, 2011 – Johana Knox, who has lived in Orange City for 34 years, is known for her tireless devotion to children and those in need. She gets around with the help of a walker, but don’t let that fool you – Johana, 79, doesn’t let anything get in the way of her passion for helping others.
To honor Johana’s spirit of volunteerism Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Foundation will present the third annual “Johana Knox Award” on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at DeBary Golf and Country Club. This award will recognize, celebrate and encourage outstanding volunteers in Southwest Volusia.
Last year’s recipient, Ida Jane Wegryzn, was selected for her thousands of hours of volunteer service to the community for the past thirty years. In 2009, Sandra Wilson, executive director of the Gateway Center for the Arts, was named the inaugural recipient for her drive and dedication to bring a community arts center to the area.
We encourage you to nominate the outstanding volunteer in your organization or family. All nominees will receive free admission to the celebration in May, and all will be recognized.
Nomination forms are available by calling 386-917-5525, or via email at Camille.firstname.lastname@example.org, and must be received by Florida Hospital Fish Memorial by 5 pm February 21, 2011.
