Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Physician Among First In Nation To Earn Specialty Certification
November 17, 2009 (Daytona Beach, FL) --- Stephen Levine, MD, medical director for Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center’s Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine, is among the first physicians in the United States to earn the designation of Certified Wound Specialist – Physician from the American Academy of Wound Management.
The certification is the most prestigious and rigorous certification in wound care and demonstrates a distinct and specialized expertise in the practice. The American Academy of Wound Management is a national interdisciplinary certified healthcare board for healthcare professionals involved in wound care.
Board certified in surgery, critical care medicine and as a wound specialist, Dr. Levine has more than 25 years experience in general surgery and wound care. A fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Abdominal Surgeons, Dr. Levine has been on Florida Hospital’s medical staff since 1987.
