Florida Hospital Fish Memorial announced today that Stephen Reed, MD, Orthopedic Surgeon, will serve as the hospital’s first-ever Medical Director for Orthopedic Services.
In this role, Dr. Reed will assist in developing standards and pathways of care for patients, assist the nursing team with education and training, and provide input on the programmatic development of the overall orthopedic service line. In addition, he will chair a multidisciplinary orthopedic committee and help identify performance improvement initiatives for monitoring our success.
“With more than 30 years of experience in orthopedics, Dr. Reed will be instrumental in enhancing our orthopedic service line,” said Rachel Miles, Director of Inpatient Nursing.
Dr. Reed earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa and completed his internship at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where he also completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Reed’s office is located inside Florida Hospital Fish Memorial at 1053 Medical Center Drive, Suite 101, Orange City.
