Celebrating National Men’s Health Week
Free Prostate Screening at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial
ORANGE CITY – To all of the men out there, if you don’t know what your prostate is or what it does, you’re certainly not alone: most men don’t. But you really should.
More than 30 million men suffer from prostate conditions that negatively affect their quality of life. That’s why Florida Hospital Fish Memorial is offering complimentary PSA blood work for men between the ages of 40-64, in honor of Men's Health Week. In addition to the free prostate screening, Dr. Gary Graham, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial radiation oncologist, will be available to answer questions.
Appointments are required and are available June 13 through 17. To schedule your appointment, call toll-free (866) 328-6417.
The purpose of Men’s Health Week, celebrated nationally June 13-19, is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
Prostate cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in men. Each year, more than 230,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and about 30,000 will die of it. The good news is that it has one of the best survival rates – 91 percent - if detected and treated early.
