Banking On The Future: Baby Bucks For Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center Newborns
Daytona Beach, FL (Sept. 17, 2009) --- For every baby born through December 31, 2009, at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center’s BirthCare Center, East Coast Community Bank will contribute $10 to a savings account in the child’s name.
“Teaching children from birth about financial responsibility can lead to healthy habits, just like learning to eat fruits and vegetables,” said Becky Vernon, RN and BirthCare Center director.
“We agree with Becky, financial accountability should begin early in life, teaching responsibility at an early age which will lead to responsible adults. These children are our ‘now’ and our ‘future,’ and ultimately our ‘community’s future.’ What better investment in our community, than our children,” said Melinda Ferris, vice president, East Coast Community Bank.
Certificates are presented to parents upon discharge and can be redeemed within 60 days of birth at the Ormond Beach branch, located at 1240 West Granada Boulevard.
